Health and wellness are prime concerns of the Government of India. A healthy citizen contributes to make a healthy nation. Over the years, the government has introduced various health programmes and policies to better the standard of life of its citizens. The issue of health comes under the purview of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare . This ministry is divided into the Department of Health, Department of Family Welfare and the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy . Recently, the Ministry has launched a website called Healthy India (External website that opens in a new window) to guide citizens on maintaining their health through a balanced diet
